On June 23, 2015 the Village signed an agreement with MC Squared Energy Services (mc²) to provide electricity supply to eligible residents and small businesses (15,000 kWh or less) at the conclusion of the current agreement with Constellation Energy. The Village selected a 12 month agreement at the competitive rate of 6.690 cents/kWh, starting with the September 2015 billing cycle.

If you are already a member of the River Forest Electricity Aggregation Program, there is nothing you need to do. All existing residential and small business members will automatically be enrolled unless they choose to Opt-Out of the program.  mc2 will be mailing informational material with additional information, including how to Opt-Out.

Residents who have experienced damage to their homes as a result of this week’s storms can place flood-related trash at the curb for pick-up on their usual garbage day during the week of June 22, 2015.  Electronic items are prohibited.  To learn more about refuse and recycling in River Forest please visit

On May 27, 2015, the elected officials of the various River Forest units of government convened for a joint meeting to make introductions and provide an overview of each organization's finances as well as their goals, objectives and challenges.  There was also a sharing of ideas and "next steps" for the group.

The Development Review Board met on June 18, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the 1st Floor Community Room of the River Forest Village Hall, 400 Park Avenue, River Forest, Illinois.  The meeting included a continued public hearing regarding Application #15-02.  

The Development Review Board unanimously voted to approve the Hines townhome project -The Promenade Townhomes, 7820 W. Madison Street (Hines), River Forest, Illinois.  The applicant proposes to change the use of the property and construct 29 attached townhomes in five buildings, with a landscaped common area, fencing, guest parking, lighting and other improvements.
