400 Ashland - Amendment to Existing Planned Development

In 2013 the Village Board of Trustees approved a Planned Development Permit at 400 Ashland Avenue allowing the conversion of commercial space to a residential unit.  The property owner is seeking a major amendment to the existing planned development permit to convert existing commercial space to one additional residential unit.

Project Description

The property owner wishes to convert an office space and a portion of adjacent office space into a studio apartment.

Planned Development Permit Application Status
  • Development Review Board Pre-Filing Meeting - February 18, 2021, May 6, 2021
  • Neighbor Meeting - February 24 at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall 1st Floor Community Room or via Zoom.
  • Application Submittal - A complete application was submitted on July 8, 2021.
  • Village Technical Committee Review - this meeting was held on June 23, 2021
  • Development Review Board Public Hearing - A public hearing was opened on August 5, 2021, continued to September 2, 2021, and September 16, 2021, and was continued again to October 21, 2021, at the applicant's request. At the conclusion of the hearing, the DRB recommended that the Village Board grant conditional approval of the planned development permit. 
  • Village Board of Trustees Final Consideration - The planned development permit was approved by the Village Board at its December 13, 2021 Meeting. The applicant has until March 2023 to commence work and until September 2024 to complete the project.
