Beginning Wednesday, September 12th, the contractor for the Chicago Avenue Resurfacing Project will be mobilizing their heavy equipment to the site and will begin work by removing curb. Curb removals will be done in preparation for the installation of traffic bump-outs at designated locations and ADA-compliant sidewalks at each corner. Once this work is complete, the new curb associated with the bump-outs will be installed along with the storm sewer at each rain garden (located within each bump-out). Once all curb and sidewalk work is complete, the pavement replacement portion of the work will begin. We urge all drivers to use caution when driving through this construction site, especially when construction workers are present.
