River Forest Police Respond to Residential Burglary

UPDATE: A similar report was made for a home on the 800 block of Monroe, also on December 12. River Forest Police is continuing to investigate these incidents, with a possible connection to other incidents in neighboring communities. Please see below for crime prevention tips and call with any information. 

River Forest Police responded to a home in the 1200 block of Monroe on December 12, 2017 to a call for a residential burglary.  The resident had discovered that someone had broken into the home between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM, and reported that several electronic devices and jewelry were removed.

The River Forest Police Department wants to remind you to:

  • Lock the doors and windows to your home
  • Utilize your alarm and camera systems
  • Keep valuables out of sight from windows and doors
  • Record serial numbers for electronics and photograph jewelry/valuables
  • Report suspicious activity to River Forest Police via 911 or 708-366-7125
