March on Washington

Village President Cathy Adduci and members of the Village Board of Trustees will participate in a Black Lives Matter March on Washington Blvd this Sunday, June 14, starting at 12pm from the Christian Unity Church (2140 Washington Blvd, Bellwood, IL). The March will head east on Washington Blvd through River Forest and end at Grant-White Elementary School in Forest Park. The theme of the March is “All Love No Hate.”

Mosquitos

This summer, please remember to protect against mosquitoes and the mosquito-borne West Nile Virus. The Des Plaines Valley Mosquito Abatement District, which includes River Forest, collected batches of mosquitos that tested positive for West Nile Virus on May 31. Positive mosquito pools typically are found in the Des Plaines Valley Abatement District traps every season. For more on West Nile Virus, please visit the Illinois Department of Public Health. Remember to follow the three R’s:

  • Reduce the number of mosquitos and get rid of containers outside that hold water.
  • Repel mosquitos by using insect repellent.
  • Report areas where water sits for more than a week.

Congratulations to all of the 2020 graduates, especially those from our Oak Park River Forest High School who will be graduating this Sunday, June 14, at 3pm.
