Road Closures
Franklin between Central and Hawthorne
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16, the contractor completing water main upgrades will be moving to an additional project site at Franklin Avenue, between Central and Hawthorne. Closures and detours will be changing throughout the day as work progresses in an effort to minimize impacts to the traveling public. The intersections of Franklin @ Hawthorne and Franklin @ Central will be closed at different points during the day. The viaduct at Ashland Avenue will be used as the detour route for most traffic during this work. Access to driveways and properties within the closure will remain open at all times. Those traveling to or from properties within the closure area are asked to alter their routes to avoid the work zone. This work will continue through the end of the day on Thursday of this week. 800 Block of Harlem Avenue
Starting Tuesday, September 22, the western-most lane on Harlem Avenue will be closed to traffic in order to allow the construction crews at Chicago and Harlem to perform required utility disconnections. The single lane closure will be approximately located between Paulina Street and Chicago Avenue. All traffic control devices will be installed at 9:00am and removed by 3:00pm on a daily basis. Driveways located within the closure will remain accessible at all times. Work associated with this closure is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 2.
