The Village’s annual program includes the removal and replacement of surface asphalt at more than 100 locations throughout the Village. Most patches are restored to a depth of 2”, while more severe locations are restored to a depth of 4”. Staff annually inspects all streets and areas of pavement failure to identify where patching is needed. Street patching maintains and improves surface conditions of Village streets, alleys and parking lots, prolonging the life of the pavement. This is a less expensive alternative to resurfacing, which involves not only the replacement of defective surface but also additional surface areas that have not yet begun to deteriorate. The annual patching program helps keep Village roadways safer for motorists and bicyclists.

PLEASE NOTE:  The weather forecast for the project date includes some chances for rain. The above stated schedule could be delayed based on weather conditions.

Thermoplastic Striping

At the conclusion of each construction season, one of the final projects the Village undertakes is the installation of pavement marking throughout town in areas that were impacted by other construction projects. This includes stop sign bars (the white rectangular bar by a stop sign), updates to street crosswalks and other pavement markings. The Village uses a thermoplastic material for this work that is more durable than regular street paint.

This work is scheduled to be completed on Monday, October 19, weather permitting. The work will be completed as it is performed.

PLEASE NOTE:  The weather forecast for next week is calling for some chances for rain. The above stated schedule could be delayed based on weather conditions.
