River Forest Police Respond to Residential Burglary

January, 17, 2018

River Forest Police responded to a call on the 900 block of Franklin on January 16, 2018 at approximately 9 PM for a garage burglary that had just occurred where a vehicle was taken. Shortly after the vehicle was taken, the vehicle was spotted by multiple responding jurisdictions, as well as a Chicago Police helicopter, on the west side of Chicago. Subsequently the car stopped and 3 offenders fled from the vehicle and were lost in a dense residential area. At this time, the River Forest Police Department and their law enforcement partners are actively investigating this incident.

The River Forest Police Department wants to remind you to:
  • Remain vigilant and report anyone soliciting without a permit
  • Lock the doors and windows to your home
  • Utilize your alarm and camera systems
  • Keep valuables out of sight from windows and doors
  • Record serial numbers for electronics and photograph jewelry/valuables
  • Report all suspicious activity to River Forest Police Via 911 or 708-366-7125
Some of the vehicles used to transport burglary and robbery offenders into the area are luxury cars and SUV’s that were stolen in other burglaries or carjacking events.
