Safer Internet Day

February, 8, 2022

February 8th is Safer Internet Day, but online safety is essential every day. Cybersafety begins with taking responsibility for our actions and thinking about what we share and who we interact with online. Internet crimes against children can be minimized and quickly addressed with education, proactive discussions with youth, and a better understanding of how frequently children are exposed to online predators.

The River Forest Police Department is teaming up with the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to lead the fight in Cyber Safety. Solving online victimization of children cannot rely solely on law enforcement. It is essential that parents, children, and care providers are informed and empowered to fight against online predators.
