Read below for information about Household Hazardous Waste Recycling. The next Electronic Waste Recycling event will be in March of 2024.
Please check the confirmation email from Clean Harbors for your scheduled collection date. Additional collection dates were added due to the popularity of this service and volume of requests received by the deadline.
Residents in the Village's waste collection program can now sign up to have household hazardous waste collected from their home. There is no additional charge for this service. Requests must be received by 5:00PM on September 29, 2023. Residents will be contacted with the scheduled date of collection. This service is available twice a year. The next household hazardous waste collection will be in Spring 2023. See below for a list of acceptable materials.
Submitting a request is done online and takes only a few minutes. Here’s how it works:
- Click on the Household Hazardous Waste link in the upper right side of the LRS webpage.
- Once you have filled in your address information and selected the items you have for collection, click submit and a submission confirmation will appear.
- After the request is submitted you will be contacted within 5 business days with the scheduled date of collection.
- You will receive a kit in the mail to place the materials in. If for some reason the kit does not arrive before your scheduled collection, LRS can provide simple instructions on how to place the materials out safely for collection.
- Materials must be placed in the front of your home near the front door for safety reasons no later than 7AM on the day of collection.
- If you do not have a front door facing the parkway, please include a note when you submit your request as to where the materials will be placed.
- Collection does not take place in the alley due to the nature of the materials.
