Residents are invited to attend a Public Information Meeting for the North Avenue Streetscape Improvements Project. This meeting is part of preliminary or phase I engineering for the project. The event will be held at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Kyte Hall, 1530 Jackson Ave, on Wednesday, May 13th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This project aims to create a more walkable and pedestrian-friendly environment along North Avenue between Thatcher Avenue and Harlem Avenue.

The Villages of River Forest and Elmwood Park hosted a Community Open House regarding the North Avenue Streetscape Project at St. Vincent Ferrer Parish on May 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The meeting provided residents and stakeholders with an opportunity to review the proposed improvement plans, speak one on one with Village staff and project representatives, and submit feedback on the project. More than 40 residents attended the open house and shared valuable comments and input.
