The Village's Plan Commission, Village Board and Staff have undertaken a year-long process of updating River Forest's Comprehensive Plan. The existing Comprehensive Plan, last updated in 2003, is the official policy guide for land use and development. It also sets forth long-range recommendations for the maintenance and enhancement of the community as well as desirable improvements, developments and redevelopments in selected locations.
Community input is critically important to the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan and residents will have ample opportunity to share their thoughts through surveys, the project website, community meetings and events, and more. Residents can also use the map.social tool to create maps of the issues and opportunities facing River Forest.
