Dear River Forest Residents,

River Forest Community Center Available

In order to help those residents that do not have power and are working from home and need WiFi/internet, the Village has arranged with the River Forest Township and Community Center to allow residents to use the River Forest Community Center WiFi/internet free of charge. The Center is located at 8020 Madison and is available from 8am to 5pm. Please remember to bring a mask and a driver license or a government ID. For more information please call 708-771-6159 ext 200. According to ComEd, approximately 426 River Forest customers remain without power. ComEd crews are working to restore all customers as quickly as possible. For more, click here.

Rental and Mortgage Assistance Programs

Both the State of Illinois and Cook County have announced programs to help residents who are having difficulty paying their rent or mortgage as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. For further information about the specifics of each program, please visit the links below.

Thank you to the entire River Forest community for continuing to support efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to wear face coverings, practice social distancing and wash your hands so River Forest can play, work, learn, shop, and live safely.

River Forest COVID-19 Senior Response Team is still available. Please call 708-613-1642 for any assistance you need. Please remember to help care for our senior community members. If you have an elderly neighbor, give them a call to check in on them.

Property Tax Appeal Webinar

Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak will be holding a property tax appeal webinar on Thursday, 8/13 at 11 AM and again at 6 PM for taxpayers seeking to appeal their 2020 property tax assessments. River Forest Township is open for appeal at the Board of Review 7/30/20 - 8/28/20. Click here to register.
