Are you interested in bringing native plants to your yard or garden? A landscape full of native vegetation is key to reversing biodiversity loss, and helping mitigate climate change. And you will see more butterflies and birds! A native plant sale will be held at Roosevelt Middle School on Saturday morning, October 5, from 9 to 11 AM. Affordably priced plants from $3 to $10 can be put in the ground in the fall to be ready for spring 2025. Start with a few plants in a small area, sun or shade, and build from there. The sale is a collaboration between Roosevelt Green 4 Good parent volunteers, the PTO, Faculty, and the Roosevelt Eco-Warrior environmental club. All plants have been grown in River Forest from locally harvested seeds, using no pesticides, by a native gardener. Any proceeds will benefit the non-profit, Friends of the Forest Preserves.
